My 75" LaserVue (L75-A91) was ordered from OneCall.com on October 30th, 2010, and delivered on November 8th, 2010. The room lighting consisted of five 23w CFs, which were at full brightness, I suspect that my camcorder (Sony HDR-CX12) automatically compensated for the lighting of the environment as the camera catches the reflected lights. A static image (an HD test image embedded within the TV's firmware) was used to demonstrate viewing angles, as it remains a "constant" as the camera moves toward other viewing angles. I purposely shot video from an extreme angle to illustrate the viewing angles of this set. As such, some glare from my basement's overhead lights are reflected on the screen of the TV. Again it is far better in person than as portrayed in the video. This will probably be my final video on the LaserVue, because I would rather be watching it, than recording it. This pocket television was the first actual LCD television set, launched in 1983. It was a monochrome (black & white) set with a greyscale output. With this tv the contrast was poor thus pure black and white images were not possible, and brightness did little to clear a blurred image. These were early days however and with the Epson ET-10 revealed in Nov 1983 and launched in 1984, the definition was greatly improved with over 50000 pixel LCD, and vibrant colour images. In strictly electronics terms in the 1980's the high definition Cathode Ray Tube could not be beaten for crystal clarity and pure colour. More recently large screen LCD tv's are now providing greater pixels and thus hi definition, although they still lack the high contrast and brightness of the old CRT tv's. Recent experiments to increase the contrast & brightness have meant the LCD tv's use additional LED backlighting, meaning extremely high power useage of between 500-1000 Watts (depending on screen size). This makes them energy inefficient, and so their manufacture may be banned in future.

In this video all I am using is a Arlington Industries LVDR2, a Midlite 4641-W Recessed Power Receptacle, a Midlite DC1WH Decora Cable Pass Through Insert, and a standard 2 gang Decora faceplate. Very simple and inexpensive products. I like this solution because it is clean, simple, and effective. The recessed Decora power outlet is key for recessing your power plug. This solution is even more perfect for putting power being a flat panel LED TV. Since the LED TV's are mounted so tight to the wall, the recessed power outlets sinks the power plug into the wall leaving you plenty of room for the TV to mount flat on the wall like it is designed to. To add power to this solution you really need to just tap into some local power in the area. You can run a small piece of romex to the power receptacle and that is going to light up that plug with power. I really think this is a simple and cost effective way to add power and cable management to the back of your wall mount TV.
